Autopsy Results Pending In Synthetic Drug Death
ANOKA, Minn. (AP) -- The murder trial of a 21-year-old man who allegedly provided a synthetic drug that led to a fatal overdose at a party in Blaine is being postponed because final autopsy results on the victim are still pending.
At a pretrial hearing Friday for Timothy LaMere, Anoka County prosecutors said there is only one lab nationwide that can test a victim's body for evidence of 2C-E.
Prosecutors believe LaMere gave that drug to 19-year-old Trevor Vance Robinson, who died March 17.
But defense attorney Brad Zunker says officials still aren't sure what's in the victim's blood.
The lab in Colorado is willing to do more testing.
LaMere's trial was due to start Nov. 14, but Anoka County Judge Alan Pendleton pushed it back. The next hearing is Nov. 30.
