Authorities: Woman Believed To Be Kidnapped Found Safe
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A woman thought to have been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Wednesday afternoon in southern Minnesota has been found safe, according to the Mower County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities are still looking for a 27-year-old man in connection with the incident after they believe he previously assaulted her when the couple reportedly broke up last week.
Authorities said a 22-year-old woman was meeting Zachary Rahlf at a public spot in the city of Dexter at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday to get property back from him. She was being driven to the location by a friend and when she got there, she got out of the car and walked toward's Rahlf's car.
Authorities said Rahlf grabbed her, pushed her into the car and sped away. The incident took place at the Mower County Lake GEO Travel Plaza truck stop. The city of Dexter is located north and east of Austin off Interstate 90 in southern Minnesota.
The woman's friend immediate called police about the kidnapping and chased Rahlf's vehicle for several miles until his car overheated.
Rahlf is reportedly driving a 1996 black 4-door Saturn with the license plate 967 BNP.
