Authorities Investigating Business Burglaries In Benton County
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in northern Minnesota are asking for help as they are investigating a pair of burglaries from businesses near Sauk Rapids.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary that took place on the early-morning hours of Oct. 13 at Mimbach Fleet Supply near Sauk Rapids. Authorities said a snowmobile trailer, a pull behind lawn vacuum and a pull behind lawnmower were stolen from the outdoor fenced area at the business.
An investigation showed at least two men showed up to the business in a newer dark-colored pick-up truck and gained entry to the business by cutting the lock securing the gate.
Authorities said on Nov. 16, an employee of Luther Honda in St. Cloud contacted police about a burglary. An investigation revealed that the night before, at least one suspect had stolen 60 wheels and tires from 15 different vehicles in the parking lot. One of the vehicles had also sustained damage on the windshield.
The tires taken were a mix of Bridgestone, Continental and Michelin brands that were between 16 and 18 inches.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call the Benton County Sheriff's Office at (320) 968-7201.
