Authorities Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting Near Frazee
FRAZEE, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a potentially suicidal man and a deputy were injured in an officer-involved shooting in northwestern Minnesota.
The Becker County sheriff's office said in a statement Sunday that law enforcement responded to a 911 call around 10 p.m. Saturday at a residence near Frazee. It says the man was threatening to injure himself and may have attempted an overdose. He refused commands to leave the home, so officers went inside after about 45 minutes.
At some point deputies discharged Tasers and a firearm, injuring the man. He was taken to a Detroit Lakes hospital and then flown to a Fargo hospital. His condition was not immediately released.
One deputy was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff's office has asked the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate.
