Authorities Investigate Armed Robbery In St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – Police are investigating after a man was robbed and assaulted by two black men in St. Cloud late Friday night, authorities said.
A 22-year-old man from Kimball approached police at about 11:10 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of 9th Street South and told authorities he had been robbed at gunpoint by two black men.
One of the men displayed a revolver and pointed it at the victim, according to a police report. The victim was assaulted and had his wallet taken from him. The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. One of the suspect was wearing a black shirt during the robbery and the other was wearing a white shirt, police said.
Earlier Friday, two black men robbed a store on the 3400 block of 3rd Street North at gunpoint. An employee at the store was struck in the head during the robbery. Police aren't sure if these incidents are related at this time.
