Authorities ID Victims In Minneapolis Shooting, Stabbing
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified two victims who were killed after a violent night to start the weekend in Minneapolis.
A 53-year-old man died in a shooting in south Minneapolis Friday night. He was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner as 53-year-old Kenneth Madison of Minneapolis. The incident happened just before midnight on the 2700 block of Blaisdell Avenue South.
He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died a few hours later. Authorities said he suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police said Sunday they've arrested 59-year-old Rico Patrick Howard in connection with the shooting. He's being held in the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause murder charges.
Police were called to a report of a stabbing at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday on Franklin Avenue between 4th and 5th Avenues South. When officers arrived, a woman had been stabbed and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she died a short time later.
Authorities identified the victim as 46-year-old Nanette Marie Haghi. She died of a stab wound to the chest.
Police said there are no suspects in custody in connection with the stabbing, and anyone with information should call Minneapolis Police.
