Authorities ID Minneapolis Murder Victim, Arrest Made
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified a man who was shot and killed in a south Minneapolis home on Monday and said an arrest has been made in the case.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim Tuesday as 35-year-old Daniel Dwayne Maniece of Jordan. The medical examiner said Maniece died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police were called to the 3500 block Chicago Avenue South at about 12:17 a.m. Monday on a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found Maniece suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Minneapolis Police said they made an arrest in the case at about 9 p.m. Monday, they believe the incident is isolated and the public is not at risk. They decline to provide further details as the incident is still under investigation.
