Authorities: Blaine Man Dies After Altercation Outside VFW
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An apparent altercation outside a VFW in western Minnesota has claimed the life of a Blaine man.
Bradley Friesen, 43, was living in Thief River Falls studying for a career change, according to his family. But on Dec. 17, 2014, prosecutors say he was knocked unconscious outside the local VFW. He died five days later.
Police say a security video shows a group of people bringing Friesen out of the VFW. That's when a man, identified as Shaun Brandt, allegedly pushed him and he fell to the ground, suffering head injuries.
Authorities say Friesen was unresponsive after the incident. It was Brandt who called 911.
It was determined that Friesen suffered a "massive intra-cranial bleed" and a head injury, including fractures to his skull.
Brandt, 34, was charged with manslaughter and is now out on bail, according to the Fargo Affiliate.
