At Iowa Fair, Ryan Criticizes Obama On Economy
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Republican Paul Ryan says President Barack Obama is diminishing the future for the nation's children.
The Wisconsin congressman commented during his first solo campaign swing as the GOP vice presidential candidate, a tour of the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
Obama also was campaigning in Iowa, where he started a three-day bus tour.
Ryan did not address the drought affecting the heartland. He also took no questions about his desire to transform Medicare into a voucher-like system.
But he jabbed at Obama, accusing the president of trying to weaken work requirements for welfare recipients.
Hecklers repeatedly tried to interrupt Ryan's brief speech. One protester climbed on stage and was dragged away by police.
