Armed Man Abducts Toddler In St. Louis Park; Amber Alert Issued

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities issued an amber alert Thursday night after they say an armed man abducted a 17-month-old girl.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says 31-year-old George Jermaine Rutledge (pictured to the left) kidnapped Nahla Sky Rutledge (pictured below). George Rutledge is the girl's non-custodial father, and he assaulted the girl's mother during the abduction, authorities say.

George Rutledge was last seen on the 1300 block of Jersey Avenue in St. Louis Park. He is armed and dangerous, authorities say. He drives a tan 1998 Ford Expedition with tinted windows; license is unknown although the plates are from South Carolina. The direction he's driving is also unknown.

Rutledge is described as being 5-feet, 10-inches-tall, 165 pounds, heavily tattooed, wearing a blue Dickey two-piece and a black coat with a Cadillac emblem on the back. He has a gunshot wound on his left abdomen.

If you see him or have any information on his whereabouts, call 911.

Nahla Sky Rutledge was last seen wearing a pink top and gray, leopard-pattern pants. She was not wearing shoes or a jacket and has a rash on her hands and legs, authorities say.
