AP: Wolves, Josh Howard Agree To 1-Year Deal
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with free agent Josh Howard, pending a physical.
The Wolves announced the agreement Thursday, one day after they lost at home to Charlotte with six of their top seven players out. Minnesota is missing Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Chase Budinger, JJ Barea, Nikola Pekovic and Brandon Roy because of injuries.
The 32-year-old Howard worked out for the Wolves on Monday in Dallas. Howard averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 43 games with Utah last season. He has also played for Washington and Dallas.
Coach Rick Adelman says Howard's experience should help him to fit in quickly. Howard will be in uniform on Friday night against Golden State.
Minnesota waived Will Conroy to make room for Howard.
