Another Day In Flood Ravaged Farm Fields For Gov. Dayton
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Gov. Mark Dayton spent another day in waterlogged farm fields in southern Minnesota getting a firsthand look at flood damage. .
The governor was on WCCO Radio with Esme Murphy Friday afternoon.
"Forty percent of the farm land has been destroyed or damaged. Bridges and culverts wiped out. And of course people are dealing with loss of crops, and livestock," Dayton said. "It's really awful."
Another Day In Flood Ravaged Farm Fields For Governor Dayton
Dayton has declared an emergency in 35 counties, starting the process for those affected by the flooding to get help.
He is also expected to seek a federal disaster declaration once more of the damage is able to be tallied.
