Angie Craig Projected To Win Re-Election To 2nd Congressional District
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Democrat Angie Craig is the projected winner of the 2nd Congressional District, according to The Associated Press.
Craig declared victory against Marine veteran and Republican challenger Tyler Kistner on Wednesday.
AP says, with 100% of precincts reporting, that Craig defeated Kistner with 203,640 votes to his 194,254.
Adam Weeks, a third-party candidate from Legal Marijuana Now won roughly 5.8%of the vote with 24,642, even though he had died in September.

The race was one of Minnesota's most competitive, as the region is comprised of the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities as well as Goodhue and Wabasha counties.
Kistner released the following statement after conceding to Congresswoman Craig.
"I just called Angie Craig and congratulated her on her victory. I am humbled and honored by all the support I have received from Minnesotans across the Second Congressional District.
Despite lots of confusion in this race caused by Rep. Craig's lawsuit and the courts, we were able to outperform the top of the ticket by 5% and raise more money than any GOP challenger ever in the Second District.
I am heading out to drill with the Marine Corps Forces Reserves for the next few weeks, and will spend the holidays with my family in Minnesota. I will be announcing my future plans very soon, this is not the end of the movement we have started. Stay tuned."
"Tyler Kistner did all a candidate could do to position himself for victory," said Republican Party of Minnesota Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan. "Tyler has much to be proud of and build off of. We're going to see the name Tyler Kistner on the ballot again and look forward to that day."
Craig first won the seat in 2018, when she defeated incumbent Republican Jason Lewis. She runs as a moderate who gets things done.
