Girl Missing In St. Paul Found; Police Search For Suspect
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 7-year-old girl who went missing in St. Paul Sunday evening, prompting an Amber Alert, has been found miles away.
Teh girl went missing outside a laundromat on Rice Street in St. Paul around 6:30 p.m., according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The Amber Alert, which was issued just before 7:30 p.m., said the girl was last seen at Giant Wash Coin Laundry at 1675 Rice St. when a man around 50 years of age, approached the girl, asking her to come with him to see a puppy.
The girl was found a short time later in Spring Lake Park after someone called police to report that he found a girl near the intersection of Highway 65 and County Road 10.
Police said they are searching for a suspect. He is described as a white man in his 50s about 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He is described to have gray shoulder-length hair that is shaved by the ears, like a mullet. He was wearing a white and black button down shirt and medium blue-type skinny jeans.
"The search is very much on for this individual at this point. We're working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Spring Lake Park Police, Anoka County Sheriff's Office and we are trying to track this individual down as quickly as possible," said St. Paul Police spokesperson Andy Skoogman. "We are and have been searching the businesses in this area, working with them, to see if there's video of this suspect."
Several law enforcement agencies are working together and following up on a number of leads.
