Amazon Rolls Out Prime Now One-Hour Delivery In The Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Internet retailer Amazon.com announced Thursday that it's expanding its Prime Now one-hour delivery service to the Twin Cities.
The Seattle-based company said the service will be available starting Thursday in Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as surrounding suburbs such as Eden Prairie, Apple Valley, Maple Grove, Andover, Woodbury, and White Bear Lake.
A spokesperson for the company said the service is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Using the Prime Now app, Amazon Prime members can get free two-hour delivery on select items and one-hour delivery for $7.99.
What items on are offer for delivery in Minnesota isn't quite clear, but in other cities the items on offer include daily essentials (paper towels, diapers), electronics (cords, cables and TVs) and certain food items (eggs, crackers and flavored water).
The Prime Now service will competing with the brick-and-motor stores like the Minneapolis-based Target, which recently introduced grocery delivery though Instacart.
