Amazon Experiments With 30-Hour Work Week
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Working 40 hours a week (or even more) is pretty standard for most workers, but one company wants some of its employees to work less than that.
Amazon is going to experiment with a 30-hour work week.
Instead of working Monday through Friday from 9 to 5, a few dozen people will work Monday through Thursday, and only from 10 to 2. Additional flex hours will make up the rest of that week's hours.
Amazon's goal is to create a better work-life balance for employees.
According to reports, the 30-hour employees would get the same benefits as full-time employees, but a lower salary.
