All Eyes On Adrian Peterson Prior To Season Opener
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's a big night for the Minnesota Vikings. They kick off the 2015 season Monday in California.
The Vikings are slight favorites against the San Francisco 49ers. The game begins at 9:15 p.m. on WCCO.
Aside from this game being the season opener, it will also mark the return of Adrian Peterson.
All eyes will be on Peterson Monday night, as anticipation builds for the game.
Unlike last year, this season Peterson will be on the field with his team and he's excited.
You may remember Peterson played just once last season before getting sidelined for his off-the-field issue.
At the age of 30, Peterson has set the mark high, as always. He said age is only a number, that he's in shape and that his mentality is mind over matter.
WCCO's Mike Max sat down with Peterson prior to the game.
"I can tell you what I'll say to the Vikings fans, I love them. When I go out and I play this game, I play with everything in me to help my team win. Every game I do that. I do it for the love of the game, my teammates and for the fans, too. Fans out here in Minnesota are dedicated. [We're] talking about families that have held tickets for 40 – 50 years. I love those people," Peterson said.
Peterson said it doesn't get any better than a Monday night football game.
Tune in to WCCO at 8:35 p.m. for more from a one-on-one interview with Peterson during our pre-game show.
Also this season, fans will be looking at quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
He should make some good strides this year.
During the interview, Peterson spoke highly of Bridgewater. Peterson said he's smart, shows control and his confidence has grown since last year.
