Alexandria Police Seek Suspects In Armed Robbery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Alexandria Police Department is looking for two suspects after a man was the victim of an armed robbery on Tuesday.
Authorities responded at about 1 p.m. to the area of 7th Avenue and Park Street in Alexandria after a 34-year-old man called police saying he had been the victim of an armed robbery at about 10:30 a.m. The victim told police he was walking in the area when two vehicles approached and he felt boxed in.
Authorities said the drivers of both vehicles got out of their cars, confronted the victim and demanded him to give his property. One of the suspects reportedly pulled a small caliber gun and pointed it at the victim, demanding property.
The victim complied, gave them what they wanted and the suspects left the area. Police said they believe the incident was not random and the victim was targeted for a certain item.
The suspect vehicles are described as a late 1980s or early 1990s dark colored Oldsmobile Cutlass or Monte Carlo. The other vehicle is described as a late 1980s or early 1990s dark colored Dodge or Chrysler minivan. One suspect was described as a thin black male wearing a dark colored T-shirt and tan cargo shorts. The other is described as a larger black male wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and bright colored shoes.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Alexandria Police Department. The case remains under investigation.
