Albert Lea Police Seek Suspects In Home Invasion, Attempted Child Abduction
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in Albert Lea are asking for the public's help in locating two suspects involved in a home invasion and attempted child abduction Thursday night.
According to the Albert Lea Police Department, around 9 p.m. officers responded to a call of a home invasion on the 600 block of Ruble Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers learned three suspects, all known to the victim, arrived at the house. Two of the suspects forced their way into the home, threatened the victim and forced two children to leave with them.
One of the suspects inside the home had a gun. The third suspect drove the getaway car.
Police said with the assistance of the Rochester Police Department, both of the children were located and taken into protective custody.
Further investigation found 33-year-old Benita Nicole Crum, of Rochester, to be one of the suspects. She was taken into custody on burglary charges.
The two others remain at large.
Police have identified one of the suspects as 35-year-old Jessie Lamar Crum, of Rochester. He is believed to be the suspect who held the gun.
The third suspect is an unknown female. Police said she was the driver.
