Albert Lea Gun Shop Forced To Stop Selling Firearms
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An Albert Lea gun shop that's been in business for more than 30 years will stop selling firearms next month.
The Hart Brothers Weaponry will give up its federal firearm license to sell modern firearms as of March 9, after being forced by the ATF.
The gun shop owners said there was some paperwork mistakes that led to the ATF's decision.
Milan Hart, the store owner, said it will impact the way he helps out local gun clubs in the community.
"I will not be able to contribute like I have in the past and that is huge with me," Hart said. "And it always has been a big thing for me. To be able to share, it hasn't been about the money, it's been about the sport and love for the sport."
Hart said his business will stay open and he's looking into carrying archery equipment and ammo, among other things to fill the void.
The Hart Brothers Weaponry store in Mason City, owned by Milan's son, will sell guns as usual.
