Air Pollution Alert Issued For Twin Cities, Rochester

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An air pollution health alert has been issued for both the Twin Cities and the Rochester area on Tuesday until midnight.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency says that the levels of fine particle pollution reached levels considered unhealthy for people in at-risk populations, including the elderly, children, and those with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.

The MPCA said that people who fit those categories should limit rigorous activities outdoors until the health alert is lifted.

Also, residents are encouraged to refrain from idling their engines or making unnecessary trips in their vehicles.
