Adrian Peterson On Arrest: The 'Truth Will Surface'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson took to Twitter to defend himself after a scuffle in Texas put him behind bars.
Peterson was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly resisting arrest outside a nightclub in downtown Houston.
According to police, it took three police officers to subdue Peterson and place him under arrest.
Peterson, who is from Palestine, Texas, was placed in a Houston jail on a $1,000 bond, according to information on the Houston Police Department website.
On Sunday, Peterson went on twitter to plead his case. He quoted Winston Churchill saying, "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."
A minute later, he tweeted, "Thank you for waiting for the facts. Truth will surface."
Team spokesman Bob Hagan said Saturday the Vikings "are aware of the situation and are gathering more information."
