Adrian Peterson Named Offensive Player Of The Week
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week.
Peterson earned the honor – his seventh – for his dominating performance against the Chicago Bears where he carried the ball 31 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
Peterson now has 1,600 yards this season, which gives him a shot at Eric Dickerson's record total regular season yards of 2,105. He'll need to average more than 169 yards over the next three games to achieve the record.
Peterson currently leads all running backs in yards this year, despite tearing both his ACL and MCL during a Vikings-Redskins game last year.
