Adrian Peterson Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Peterson rushed for a season high 153 yards on 23 carries, with one touchdown in his Week 7 performance against the Arizona Cardinals.
Peterson now ties Robert Smith for most career 100-plus yard rushing performances in Vikings history, after his 29th 100-plus yard performance.
The sixth-year back is currently tied for third in most rushing yards in the NFL. He's at 652 yards -- just seven yards shy of the NFL leader.
He leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 787.
This is the sixth time Peterson has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week -- the second time in a row that he's won the title in a Arizona Cardinals game.
