Adrian Peterson Is On A Mission
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) – Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has a different mindset than the average professional athlete.
Although he has everything an athlete could want, he still feels obligated to get more.
Peterson has made it a personal mission to play football again after suffering an ACL injury.
"I'm feeling good, you know. I'm starting to get my full range of motion back, and I'm starting to feel that when I run," said Adrian. "But there are a couple things I need to just, you know, improve a little more that I notice. The strength, and the hamstring and the quad. But outside of that I'm feeling pretty good."
You can feel his energy and passion to prove he can play again at a high level.
"it's just the way I've been raised and the way I've been living my life – just going through and making it through different obstacles," he said. "You know, I lost my brother in '92, he was a year older than me. I've seen it right in front of my face, and from that morning on, you know, I really got instilled to be a strong individual."
He is a football player who has a comfort zone on the field – a place where he feels at peace.
You can't help but wonder why it's so important for a guy who has almost everything to hurry back to a team that's coming off a 3-and-13 record.
"…just to get back to the game I love, be out there with my teammates again, and I miss it, man," he said.
It will be exciting to watch if he can return to the field in peal performance.
"My goal is to be back game one, and til that time come, we'll see," he said.
