8,000 Lose Power In St. Cloud
St. Cloud, Minn. (AP) -- Nearly 8,000 Xcel Energy customers in St. Cloud and Waite Park were without power Sunday as a major snowstorm blew into the state.
Xcel spokeswoman Mary Sandok said the problem was an equipment failure at a substation about 11 a.m. Crews investigated and found it wasn't related to the weather.
She said that as of late Sunday afternoon, the power was back on for everyone.
St. Cloud was experiencing heavy snow and 30-mile-per-hour winds Sunday. More snow was predicted for Monday.
