I-694 Reopens In Oakdale After Sinkhole Drama
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A travel headache for thousands of east Metro drivers should be over Saturday morning.
A water main broke last Sunday in Oakdale and washed out the ground beneath Interstate 694, resulting in a large sinkhole.
The southbound lanes are now open, and the northbound lanes will open later Saturday.
The sinkhole forced crews to shut down a four-mile stretch of the highway, sending drivers on a detour.
