60+ Cats Taken From Duluth Home Ready For Adoption
Update: As of Wednesday night, Animal Allies said 50 of the cats have found homes.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 60 cats and kittens taken from a home in Duluth will soon be ready for adoption.
The animals are now being taken care of by Animal Allies, a Duluth shelter. Several of the kittens are now being treated for upper respiratory viruses, but the cats and kittens are mostly healthy and were well fed.
The animals should all be able to be adopted out to new homes, and to help make that happen, Animal Allies has dropped all the cat adoption fees.
"If you want to help us with this hoarding situation, if you ever thought of having a cat, or having an additional cat in your home, now is the time because we have lots of beautiful little cats," said John Gustafson, the director of development with Animal Allies.

The Duluth Animal Shelter says the home where the cats were found was severely damaged in the floods.
Police don't expect to press any neglect or hoarding charges against the man who owns the cats.
