6 Eden Prairie Teachers Involved In Pine County Rollover Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- At least four people were hurt in a rollover crash last Friday involving six people in Pine County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Eden Prairie School District confirmed Monday that the accident involved high school math teachers heading to a conference in Duluth on Friday. Authorities responded to the crash on Interstate 35 at about 7:58 a.m.
The State Patrol said a 1999 Ford Expedition was heading northbound on I-35 nearly milepost 194 when its rear right tire came off, causing the vehicle to roll in the median. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Windlan E. Hall, was one of two people in the vehicle not injured in the crash.
The State Patrol said four passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. They were identified by authorities as 28-year-old Rachel A. Defelice, 45-year-old Brenda M. Johnson of Bloomington, 37-year-old Allison L. Grajkowske of Burnsville and 46-year-old Jennifer A. Wagner of St. Louis Park.
A school district spokesperson said two of the teachers hurt in the crash won't return to work for the rest of the school year as they recover from injuries in the crash. The spokesperson said the Edina School district has offered teachers for assistance and retired teachers have also stepped into help.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Pine County Sheriff's Office.
