5 Minnesotans On Forbes Richest 400 Americans List
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Forbes Magazine released its annual list of the 400 richest Americans Wednesday morning, and among the list are five from Minnesota.
The Carlson family, who own Carlson Hotels and several restaurants, appeared at the top of the Minnesota list. Both Barbara Carlson Gage and Marilyn Carlson Nelson claim a net worth of about $4 billion.
Whitney MacMillan with Cargill is in third place at $3 billion.
Stanley Hubbard has a net worth of about $2.1 billion, and Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has a net worth of about $1.7 billion.
Microsoft President and Founder Bill Gates was at the top of the overall 2012 list with $66 billion. Warren Buffet ($46 billion) was second on the top 400 list and Oracle's Larry Ellison ($41 billion) was third.
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg was the biggest dollar loser on the updated list. He wend down $8.1 billion to a net worth of $9.4 billion.
The net worth of 241 from the 400 increased, and the net worth of 66 decreased.
The combined wealth of the listed 400 is $1.7 trillion.
