Man Charged After Alleged Road Rage Incident
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- A case of road rage in St. Cloud has landed a 25-year-old man in jail, accused of pointing a pistol at a family of five.
It happened around dinner time Sunday night on the city's west side.
Jonathan Ortiz-Dones is charged with second-degree felony assault and making terroristic threats.
Police say the two cars were pulling onto Waite Avenue from opposing shopping center parking lots and nearly collided.
That's when the 34-year-old driver of the other car say Ortiz-Dones pointed a pistol at him, his fiancé and their three children.
"I definitely recommend if someone displays a handgun, you don't know how serious they are, what level, how much road rage is going on there, remain in your vehicle, get away from that vehicle," said Sgt. Martin Sayre with St. Cloud Police.
Police say to immediately call 911 with a description of the suspect and vehicle. That's what led to the quick arrest of Ortiz-Dones at a local motel.
