4 Things To Know: Possible Medical Pot Expansion, Post-Millennials & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- From a crucial decision to be made by Britain to what we may be calling post-Millennials, here are the four stories to know for Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Britain To Make Crucial Vote

British Parliament will hold a crucial vote today on whether to join the battle in Syria. Britain already participates in the U-S led coalition fighting the Islamic State in Iraq.

Prime Minister David Cameron is now calling for attacks on the militants in Syria.

Protesters gathered outside Parliament last night in opposition of the move.

U.S. Putting Combat Troops On The Ground

A new special operations force will be deployed to Iraq to fight Islamic State militants.

This comes as Republicans call for more boots on the ground.

U.S. officials say it could total up to a couple hundred troops.

Post-Millennials

We often talk about the Millennial generation and the choices and trends they make and create. But, what comes next after the Millenials?

MTV is planning to announce a new name Wednesday: The Founders.

In March of this year, the channel asked more than 1,000 kids born after December 2000 what they should be called.

Names included the Navigators, the Regenerators, the Builders, the Bridge Generation, and the winner: the Founders.

MTV says in research it found today's teens are more pragmatic and independent than their millennial predecessors. They're more likely to stand out than fit in. And, they've grown up being digitally plugged in.

Possible Medical Pot Expansion

Minnesota's medical marijuana program could be expanded. The health commissioner will decide if patients suffering from chronic pain will be able to use medical marijuana.

A panel of medical experts has recommended against it however.

Right now, only people with nine qualifying conditions can buy medical marijuana in Minnesota.

Allowing pain patients into the program could make the drug available to thousands of people in Minnesota.
