4 Arrested After St. Cloud Armed Home Invasion
ST. CLOUD (WCCO) -- Four people have been arrested in connection to the armed invasion and robbery of a St. Cloud home Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Police officers responded at 3:20 p.m. to a complaint that people were robbed at gunpoint at a townhouse on the 700 block of 14th Street South.
According to the police incident report, the victims told police that 18-year-old Aaron Cordell Carter and that another man, later identified as 24-year-old Howard Jerry Welsch, entered their residence, held them at gunpoint and robbed them of $150. Both men are from St. Cloud.
Police said that the two men left in a silver Ford Taurus, which was allegedly driven by Brianca Renae Carter, 19, of St. Cloud.
All three have been arrested and are being held at the Stearns County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery.
The firearm in the robbery was discovered in the Taurus, and additional charges of felon in possession of a handgun and possession of a stolen firearm are being added against Welch, police said.
Another man was arrested after a stolen pistol, unrelated to the robbery, was discovered in Carter's car, according to police. Benjamin Jonathan Lenoir, 21, of St. Cloud, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was taken to the Benton County Jail.
The investigation was conducted by the St. Cloud Police, the St. Cloud Metro Gang Strike Force and Drug Unit, the Sherburne County Sheriff's Department and the St. Cloud Criminal Investigation Unit.
