3 SD Men Charged With Distributing Meth
HILL CITY, S.D. (AP) — Three Hill City men face federal charges for allegedly selling thousands of dollars of worth of methamphetamine to an undercover officer at a Sioux Falls Walmart.
The Rapid City Journal reports that 33-year-old Hugo Arechiga-Torres, 19-year-old Tomas Torres and 48-year-old Francisco Escobar-Tinjero have all pleaded not guilty to a federal indictment accusing them of conspiring to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. A fourth man is still being sought.
According to court documents, Hugo Arechiga-Torres allegedly made a deal for one-half pound of methamphetamine with a member of the MinnesotaBureau of Criminal Apprehension after meeting him on March 31. Other law enforcement officers watched the sale and recorded the transaction.
