3 Of 4 Students Plead Guilty In Photo Privacy Case
HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) — Three of four Lakeville middle school students have pleaded guilty to charges in a case involving cell phone photos and privacy.
Two boys, ages 13 and 14, and a 14-year-old girl entered the pleas to conspiracy to interfere with privacy.
The three and another girl were accused of taking and distributing inappropriate pictures of two girls changing in a locker room at Century Middle School in May.
A Dakota County judge sentenced the three to 180 days of probation and 30 hours of community service.
Each child must also attend a victim empathy class and write a letter of apology. Judge Michael Sovis also ordered the students' cell phones be forfeited.
The district attorney's office says the fourth student will be in court later because her lawyer had a scheduling conflict.
