3 Men Sought In Winona Hotel Room Holdup
WINONA, Minn. (AP) -- Winona police are searching for three men who barged into a hotel room and stole hundreds of dollars in cash.
Police Sgt. Chris Nelson says the suspects, wearing dark coats, entered a room at the Quality Inn just after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Two of the robbers wore masks, and one of the men had what was believed to be a .45-caliber handgun.
Nelson tells KAGE-AM the men took $2,200 in cash from under a coach in the room, plus $300 to $400 from one of three people occupying the room, then fled.
One victim was struck with the pistol as the suspects entered the room.
One of the room's occupants told police the three were in Winona looking for an apartment.
