3 Federally Indicted For Armed St. Paul Pharmacy Robbery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Three Minneapolis men were federally indicted Wednesday for allegedly robbing a St. Paul pharmacy of one pound of Hyrdocodone and other drugs in April.
Twenty-four-year-old Ray James Brown, 20-year-old Rayshawn Earl James Brown and 30-year-old Michael Brooks Bynum were charged with one count of interference with commerce by robbery, one count of possession of a firearm and one count of robbery involving controlled substances, authorities said.
Ray James Brown was also charged with three counts of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of possessing a gun and being ineligible to do so. Bynum was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The robbery happened April 3 at the West Seventh Pharmacy in St. Paul. Police said they saw two men leave the pharmacy and jump into Bynum's car, allegedly armed with a Glock .40-caliber, semi-automatic pistol.
When police stopped Bynum's car, Ray James Brown and Rayshawn Earl James Brown ran off into the neighborhoods near Palace Avenue and West Seventh Street. Officers assisted Bynum, who is paralyzed, in his arrest.
During the arrest, police found a gun and a bag of drugs.
According to police, Ray and Rayshawn said they robbed the pharmacy and demanded Percocet, Vicodin and Hyrdocodone. They planned to sell the drugs for money. Roughly $500 in prescription drugs were stolen from the pharmacy.
Both Ray and Rayshawn said they learned of the pharmacy and its supplies through a man named Brick, who researched the pharmacy online.
