3 Accused In Theft Of DNR Animal Mounts

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- St. Paul police believe they know who stole more than 20 mounted animals and other items from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Two men were arrested Thursday and a third man accused in the thefts was already in custody on other charges. Police spokesman John Keating says investigators developed information on the location of items stolen from the DNR office in St. Paul and executed a search warrant.

Authorities say the search turned up a number of missing items, including animal mounts. Trophy bucks, a bear head, antlers and walleye were among items stolen from the traveling poachers display called the "Wall of Shame" last weekend. The St. Paul Pioneer Press says chain saws, power tools and snowmobile ramps were also taken.
