2nd Man Convicted In Sex Trafficking Case
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A jury has convicted a 26-year-old man for sex trafficking and promotion of prostitution in Chicago and eventually Minneapolis, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.
Ronald Lee was convicted after a six-day trial. The jury also found that his action caused bodily harm to the victim, which will allow prosecutors to ask for more prison time when he is sentenced on Jan. 30, 2013.
Lee is expected to be sentenced to 138 months in prison, but the judge could go as high as 156 months.
Lee and Edward Washington kidnapped the18-year-old victim from Duluth, held against her will for a week, and forced into prostitution before she was able to escape. When the victim resisted and turned customers away, she was pushed down and dragged across the room. She was only able to escape after being left alone in the hotel room.
Washington, 29, was convicted earlier and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
