2nd Annual Skate For The Troops Set In Roseville
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (AP) — A group of Minnesota NHL alumni will be playing hockey for charity Saturday in Roseville.
The Minnesota NHL Alumni Association will again face off against the Defending The Blue Line Military All-Stars as part of the second annual Skate for the Troops.
This year the event moves outdoors to the John Rose OVAL. It takes place on Hockey Day Minnesota and includes coverage from Fox Sports North.
Brad Maxwell, Reed Larson, Brian Bellows and Don Beaupre are among those on the Minnesota NHL alumni team.
The event is free and open to the public. Last year's event raised more than $10,000 for Defending The Blue Line. The charity helps families of the military with costs associated with hockey, such as registration fees and summer hockey camps.
