2014 All-Star Game Logo Unveiled
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The official 2014 All-Star Game logo has plenty of Twins-tendencies.
Focusing on the iconic ballpark structure that stands within the shadow of downtown Minneapolis, the Minnesota Twins' core colors of navy and red combine on the logo with a blue sky and tan-colored skyline which harkens to the locally quarried limestone used throughout Target Field.
The event, set for July 15, is Minnesota's third time hosting the All-Star Game.
The 1965 Midsummer Classic came to Metropolitan Stadium, where Harmon Killebrews' home run still couldn't stop the NL from a 6-5 win.
In 1985, the game was played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, this time for a 6-1 NL win. That year was also the beginning of the Home Run Derby, as Cincinnati's Dave Parker came out on top.
