2 Suspects In Custody After Kidnapping In Loretto
MEDINA, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say two men are in custody after they apparently kidnapped a Verizon retail store manager in the west Twin Cities metro Wednesday night.
Police said the incident happened late Wednesday night in Loretto on the 100 block of Chippewa Road. Authorities said the man's wife called them saying her husband was taken against his will.
Medina police said the incident does not appear to be random. The two suspects put the victim in a red Dodge Charger, which was later spotted near Highway 55 and Pioneer Trail in Medina. Police were able to locate the suspects in a field with the help of a helicopter with infrared cameras around 11:30 p.m.
Authorities said the victim was found inside the vehicle and was not hurt. He was reunited with his family. Medina Police Chief Ed Belland said the family doesn't want to talk and is emotionally shaken.
"Just the shock of being kidnapped in your own driveway and thrown in a truck -- they're traumatized," Belland said.
William Charles Graham, 30, and Ronald Jermaine Jackson, 29, were arrested, as the suspects intended to take the keys to the store and burglarize it.
Medina Police said there is no risk to the public and that the incident is under investigation.
