2 Minnesota Babies Sickened By Recalled Tahini
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- State health officials say two Minnesota babies have gotten sick from bacteria matched to a recalled sesame paste product.
The Minnesota Department of Health said Friday neither child required hospitalization. Both are less than 1-year-old and are recovering.
Krinos Foods, in New York, recently voluntarily recalled its Tahini sesame paste because of possible salmonella contamination. The Michigan Department of Agriculture recently did routine testing on a sample of the product in a retail store and advised Krinos of the positive test results.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the Krinos sesame paste was distributed to retail stores nationwide.
