UPDATE (July 25, 2023): Police say one of the shooting victims has passed away. What follows is a revised version of the original story.

MINNEAPOLIS -- One of the victims in a shooting earlier this month near a Minneapolis light rail station died Tuesday from his injuries.

Minneapolis police say two men in their 30s were shot near the 1800 block of Franklin Avenue East and Cedar Avenue South at about 8 p.m. on July 3.

One of the men suffered a life-threatening wound, and police say he died from his injuries 22 days later. He was later identified as 34-year-old Dovonta Norman.

The condition of the other shooting victim is unknown, but police say he was expected to survive.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an "altercation" with others who had already fled the area by the time they arrived. A gun was recovered at the scene.

Three teenage boys -- two who are 14 and one who is 17, were arrested on the night of the shooting. One of the 14-year-olds was charged with assault, but police say that charge will now change.

Anyone with information on this case can submit an anonymous tip online to Crime Stoppers, or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
