2 Men Arrested In Shakopee Fatal Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting and robbery last week in Shakopee.
Shakopee Police were dispatched to a residence last Tuesday on the 800 block of Prairie Street on a report of an armed robbery. When they arrived, they found a man dead at the scene, the victim of apparent gunshot wounds.
Police believe 21-year-old Anthony James Cox, of Minneapolis, was the lone gunman in the shooting death of 32-year-old Aaron James Moran, of Shakopee. He was arrested over the weekend on possible second-degree murder charges and is being held in Scott County Jail.
Police also arrested 36-year-old Brooks Ellery Kurr, of Annandale, on possible charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
Authorities say the robbery appears to be the motive behind the shooting and say at least one of the men arrested is an acquaintance of the victim.
Police say there is no threat to the general public and they are not looking for any additional suspects.
The case has been turned over to the Scott County Attorney's Office for possible charges.
