2 Men, 2 Women Charged In Fridley Stabbing, Attempted Robbery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Anoka County prosecutors say one of the victims in a brutal assault over the weekend was able to call police after he had been stabbed eight times.
Anthony McCollum and Yani Singh are still in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center after police say they were stabbed inside of a car early Saturday morning. They both suffered punctured lungs.
Four people -- two men and two women -- were charged Tuesday morning in connection with the crime.
There are 20 serious charges in total between the four of them, ranging from attempted aggravated robbery to attempted first-degree murder.
According to court records, the victims say they had been with the two women charged -- Tiffani ivy and Leanne Todd -- at Two Stooges Sports Bar in Fridley until close.
The victims drove the women to a parking lot in Fridley, where the two male defendants showed up. The complaint alleges the four defendants conspired together to rob the two victims.
Court records show that Tiffani Ivy admitted the plot to police, and changed her story a couple of times during an interview.
Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo says this is not uncommon when people are faced with serious charges.
"We see this all the time. People certainly have remorse, some do not. When they have remorse, they tend to want to come forward," Palumbo said. "We do feel this is more serious than just your stick-up, so to speak. When you are stabbed eight times while sitting in the front seat of your car or something like this -- that indicates a much more serious crime."
The two male suspects -- Marcus Fultz and Kevin Moore -- have denied any involvement. Fultz and Moore are cousins, according to Moore's mother. She says she doesn't believe her son could commit such a violent crime.
"He wouldn't harm another human to this extent," she said. "And the only thing I can do now is just wait for justice."
Bail for Ivy and Todd is set at $250,000 for each woman. Fultz's bail is set at $750,000 and Moore's is at $1 million.
They will each be back in court at various dates in September.
