2 Meetings Set On Minnesota Medical Marijuana Law
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Two public meetings have been set to discus planning for Minnesota's new medical marijuana program.
The first is on July 31 and will be used to familiarize a 16-member Task Force on Medical Cannabis Therapeutic Research with its duties. The other one is an early-August session by the Office of Medical Cannabis to brief potential manufacturers and others about the timetable and program guidelines.
The Minnesota Department of Health announced the schedule Wednesday.
The Legislature and Gov. Mark Dayton passed a limited medical marijuana law last session.
Patients can only use a pill, liquid or vaporized form of the drug. Only those who suffer from eight illnesses including cancer, HIV/AIDS and glaucoma will qualify for the program.
