2 Hospitalized After Brooklyn Park Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people are in the hospital Sunday after a fire in Brooklyn Park, Minn.

When firefighters were clearing another fire, they were called to 6324 Xylon Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police got there first and were met by the two homeowners who had suffered smoke inhalation.

They were transported by ambulance to HCMC.

Their two dogs died in the fire.

"We got a quick knock down on the fire. Looks like it was containted to the two bedrooms, not sure on the cause yet that's still under investigation," said Deputy Fire Chief Todd Seitz.

The house will need a lot of work, but the deputy fire chief did not think it is a total loss.
