2 Dead, Many Injured In Shooting Near Empire State Building
NEW YORK (CBS New York) – Multiple people have been injured and at least two people killed in a shooting near the Empire State Building.
At least nine people were shot when gunfire broke out at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue at 9:07 a.m. Friday. Police said the gunman was shot and killed. A weapon was found near the body, police said.
Police were apparently out on a routine patrol when somebody flagged down the officer to alert them of the shooting. When the officers turned the corner, they encountered the gunman, shot and killed him, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.
