2 Computers Allegedly Stolen From Eagan Food Shelf
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An Eagan food shelf was burglarized sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, according to the executive director.
According to the executive director, Lisa Horn, staff of The Open Door's Eagan location came in Thursday to see the food shelf in disarray.
Horn said two computers were stolen and a number of doors were pried open.
Horn said the burglary comes at a time when they are seeing a 25-percent increase in the number of families they are serving.
"Why anybody would intentionally bring harm to an organization that just does a wealth of good," Horn said.
Eagan Police told Horn there had been a string of burglaries in neighboring businesses within the strip mall The Open Door is located in, as well as in a nearby strip mall as well.
No food was taken or damaged.
After hearing reports of the break-in, John McGuire and Jami Carson of Reboot, MPC's computer surplus store, said they plan to donate computers to the food shelf.
"They're our neighbor, so I thought, you know, let's take care of them. 'Tis the season," McGuire said.
The Open Door's Eagan location is still serving clients.
